The MCE's Biography
Before his appointment by the President of the Republic of Ghana as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Osei-Boahen was the General Manager of Nafana Rural Bank in Sampa in the Brong Ahafo Region. During his tenure as the General Manager between 2013 to 2017 of the Bank, he injected dynamism into its operations by introducing several innovations and initiatives which enabled it to compete favorably in the commercial market. He particularly streamlined the procurement activities of the bank which guaranteed value for money and judicious use of resources. Indeed, he succeeded in unifying the workers of the bank and tuned them towards the attainment of their collective corporate objectives.
He has held various political positions in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ranging from Zonal Chairman of Mim to Constituency Chairman of the Asunafo Constituency for two consecutive Terms. He was once an Assemblyman for Dome in Mim and also a Government Appointee in the then Asunafo District Assembly between 1998 and 2002 and from 2002 to 2006 respectively. He was also once the Chairman of the Mim Town Council between1998 and 2002. Hon. Yaw Osei-Boahen had previously worked at the defunct Mim Timber Co Ltd at Mim in the Asunafo North Municipality as an Accounts Clerk and Mim Cashew formerly Agro Industries and had contributed tremendously to the success of the companies in those years although for short periods. He also worked at Scanstyle Mim Ltd for 16 years between 1988 and 2004 and Koghan Woods Ltd at Kumasi in 2010 and at all levels, he endeared himself to the management and staff of the companies. At his formative years, he once served as a teacher at Mim Presby School in 1983.
Hon. Yaw Osei-Boahen acquired significant knowledge and experience in his career over the years which have transformed him into a man of integrity, honour, discipline, achieving and trustworthy which have won the respect and admiration of all. He is a responsible married person with deep respect and love for his family. He fulfils his duty to all his children by giving them decent education and up-bringing which earned them respectable positions in their various fields of profession. Hon. Yaw Osei-Boahen’s dream is to take the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly to greater heights and expand greater opportunities for all the people in the Municipality irrespective of their ethnic, social, cultural or religious backgrounds.
