ASUNAFO NORTH MUNICIPAL WASH DESK TEAM HELD A SENSITIZATION EXERCISE FOR THE PEOPLE OF POMAAKROM.

The Asunafo North Municipal WASH DESK TEAM visited the people of Pomaakrom in the early hours of today 06/06/24.The below Were the Officers who made up of the team that paid a courtesy call on the people of Pomaakrom. * Mr. Shakron Lamini-wash Desk Officer/ Assistant Planning Officer. * Mr.Evans Akingya- Assistant Director. * Mr. Emmanuel Kortey Jnr - Assistant Planning Officer. * Mr. Emmanuel Adiku- Mun.Works Department. * Mr. Obed Asante Amoah - Information Officer. After a warm reception by the Chief and His Elders, the Assembly Member,Opinion Leaders and the entire members of the community present, Mr. Shakron Lamini told the community the purpose of the gathering and also outlined the effort the Assembly is putting in place to partner development agents to help solve the water crises in the community. He also made it clear to the community the intention of World Vision to construct a machanised water supply system which will be powered by solar energy in the community. He also stated that, the project after it's implementation will be a pay-as-go facility so that the revenue generated will be used to fix faults that may occur on the project. This is just to ensure project sustainability, He added.

Secondly, Mr. Evans Akingya also added that, WASH does not only deal with issues relating to water but also to sanitation and hygiene. He also stated that the project is not just about the provision of water but rather "Safe water". Mr. Evans also emphasized on the reason why the community must welcome the project with high level of collaboration and participation during and after the project implementation. The Chief on behalf of the people thanked the team,the Assembly and the development partners ( World Vision) for this kind gesture they have shown towards the people of Pomaakrom. With a renewed sense of purpose and deeper understanding on WASH, the team finally sought permission to depart from the community.
